WAYS TO VOLUNTEER
Trap Neuter and Return | Feeding
| Fundraising
We are in need of volunteers to open your home and
offering your love to our cats or kittens while they wait for a permanent
adoptive family. In return, your reward is a warm lap and the
knowledge that you helped save a life. The more foster homes we
have, the more cats or kittens we are able to save. Becoming part of
our foster care program enables our cats and kittens to be given the life
they deserve.
Taking a homeless cat or kitten into your home facilitates
successful adoptions in innumerable ways. Most important is the love
and attention you can offer a pet in foster care. Many of our cats
need to learn to rebuild trust in people after having been given up or
abandoned. Also, by helping with socialization, you will make a cat
more attractive candidate to a potential adopter.
If you would like to be a part of our life saving mission,
whether as a donor, a volunteer, or an adopter, please contact us, we would
like to hear from you. Please download our
fostering guidelines.

Trap Neuter and Return (TNR)
We frequently perform TNR operations on campus. TNR is the most humane way
to control a feral cat population. "Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full
management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in
cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated,
vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are
adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are
returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers"
(Alley Cat
Allies, ABC's of TNR)
There is ample evidence that TNR works as a humane way of controling feral
cat populations and it has been adopted by
Maricopa County Animal Care and Control. If you would like to be
involved with TNR at ASU, please contact us, we would like to hear from
you. [top]
Feeding
A major part of any TNR operation is the establishment of a feeding
station in the release area so that the cats will not go hungry. We have
many feeding stations around the main campus of ASU, but we are always
looking to add more. If you work or live on campus, this might be an easy
way to volunteer. We have an agreement with ASU facilities management to
feed and provide continued care for the cats on campus. [top]
Fundraising
We exist solely on the generosity of the community and on the committed,
dedicated volunteers through private donations and grants. We
welcome your ideas and help planning and implementing fundraising events.
If you have a fundraising idea or would like to volunteer in this area,
please contact us, we would like to hear from you. [top]
