Editors’ Introduction
Lux Undergraduate Creative Review strives to extend beyond the limits of conventional literary magazines. As founding editors, we have had a unique opportunity to establish creative precedents for Lux in its first year of production. Exploring traditional elements of literary publications, we sifted through the many modes and layers of artistic expression in order to create an imaginative space that reflects the multiple and varied mediums through which artistic intent is successfully conveyed. As our concept for Lux developed, so did the talent demonstrated in the submissions. Each piece selected for publication was chosen on the basis of its originative literary and creative merit.
As difficult as it is to define illumination, it is likewise challenging to describe the conception and transformation of this publication. We feel that the premiere edition of Lux reflects the captivating radiance of the electric artistic power expressed by our community of students. With brilliance, intensity, vivacity, and energy, Lux Undergraduate Creative Review is proud to make its debut.
