設立理念
アリゾナ州立大学の大学院に在籍する日本人学生が集い、ともすればアリゾナの砂漠のように（？）乾いたものになりがちな院生生活を実りと潤いのあるものにしていくために交流する団体です。
誰でも気軽にアクセスできるコミュニティを作っていこう。JGSAはそんな思いから設立されました。
新入生（あるいは入学予定の方）への支援はもとより在学生同士でも助け合えるようなネットワーク作りや、さらには専門分野を超えた学術的な交流の場を作り出していくこともJGSAは目指しています。
学術系大学院、専門職大学院（公共政策、経営など）を問わず、また、院生だけでなく興味のある教職員や学部生の皆様、また近隣の大学に在籍されている方もぜひ活動に参加してみてください。
JGSAはまだ誕生して間もない団体ですが、今在籍されている方のみならず、これから入学される方々とも共に歩んでいければ…と私たちは考えています。
〜設立者〜
JGSA was founded in 2007, as an officially registered student organization at Arizona State University. It is an organization aiming at facilitating cooperation and communication among Japanese graduate students, offering opportunities to discuss cultural, social, and scientific issues related to Japan, and enhancing understanding about Japanese society and culture among American and other international students. The Association is open to any ASU student, who is interested in academic interactions and community building.
Possibly the most distinctive among JGSA activities is Forum: participants with diverse academic backgrounds discuss wide range of topics. The topics may include culture and ideas, philosophy, science and technology, political/economic issues and social scientific considerations, humanities and arts, etc. Discussions are generally in a rather relaxed manner, although every participant is usually well motivated and interested in the topics. We will also be inviting guest speakers occasionally as well. The Forum provides participants with opportunities to be engaged in intellectual, and sometimes scholarly, exchange of ideas.
