ISA tries to do the best it can to pick
new students up from the airport. Volunteers work hard
to pick students up from the airport. There are a few
things to be taken care of:
- It is advisable to arrive in the weekend,
as there are more volunteers to help.
- It is preferred that you arrive during
the daytime and not late in the night, as it would
cause inconvenience to the volunteers.
- If you have
any relatives or friends at ASU or in Tempe or around,
and they can come and pick you up then you are requested
not to ask ISA to pick you up. We have had several
instances wherein, volunteers get to the airport to
receive the students and finally it so happens that
their friends come to pick them up. Kindly cooperate
to reduce the inconvenience to the volunteers.
- Though we at ISA do our best
to pick up students, but it might just happen that
we are not able to pick you up. In that case you can
take the following options:
- Bus (City Bus)
- Rate - $1.25. Please bring exact change ( dollar bills and quarters )
Bus
is not possible, with the heavy luggage.
- Super Shuttle (Blue Vans
starting at the airport) - Rate - $12-$20.
This is a
shared service provided by the
Sky Harbor international Airport for the convenience
of the passengers. Information can be obtained
at an information desk at the airport. This shuttle
drops you to the desired destination.
- Taxi -
Rate - $20-$25.
This would be a good option, if there is someone
to share the taxi
to ASU. You have to ask the cab to take you to
Terrace and Rural intersection. At this intersection
take a left and get on to Terrace road. The second
apartment complex on your left (South Terrace
Apartments) is where most of the Indian students
stay. The address is 950 South Terrace Apartments,
Tempe, AZ - 85281. You can get off here, contact
any Indian student and get in touch with us. You
can also come to any of the addresses of ISA committee
members listed in the Homepage. The driving time is approximately
10 minutes.
