The Indian Students Association is a non-profit organization for all the students from India. Our objectives are to promote service and leadership opportunities. We know how tough it is to travel to a totally new country, thousands of miles away from home and settle down into a students life there. We aim to help new students with the educational and social issues that they may face at ASU and be the Indian link for them. Student-student and student-community interactions are also highly encouraged.

Ajay remembered by one and all; Latest update on Narendra's health
A fitting prayer service in the memory of Ajay was held in Ventana hall at Arizona State University's Memorial Union Building on 9th, June 2005. A gathering of about 100-150 friends, faculty and university officials prayed for Ajay's departed soul and remembered his time at ASU. He was remembered by his friends and roommates as a high-spirited, ever enthusiastic person and a great friend. His professors remembered him as an intelligent, sincere and a hardworking student. Earlier, Ajay's body was flown from Salt Lake City, Utah to Madanapalle, India on 6th, June 2005 and was cremated on the same day.
As we had informed you earlier, Narendra Lakamraju (PhD student in EE Dept at ASU) was critically injured in the accident. He was in coma for 2-3 days and was in ICU for 12 days at San Juan Hospital, Farmington, New Mexico. Narendra was later shifted in an air ambulance to Health South hospital/Rehab center in Scottsdale, AZ. Ever since, has been undergoing physiotherapy for his pelvic injuries and cognitive rehabilitation and therapy for his internal brain injuries. He is presently recuperating physically, however due to internal brain injuries; he has lost part of his memory. Narendra's father has come down to Tempe to support him. Narendra's parents, friends and the whole of Indian student community at ASU would like to convey their heart felt thanks to all those who have come forward to help Narendra. Your support during his slow and painful journey of recovery and return to normalcy is greatly valued.
We greatly appreciate your support so far; however we are still in need of funds to cover Narendra's hospital bills and medical expenses. We request you to support Narendra in these difficult times with his return to normalcy in what ever means possible. Our online donation account at azindia.com is still on.

Ajay Bysani (May 14, 1982 - May 28, 2005)

Ajay Bysani, an Indian MS student at the Department of Electrical Engineering, passed away in an unfortunate car accident on May 28, 2005. He was 23. To remember him and pray for the departed soul the Indian Students Association is organizing a prayer service on Friday, June 10th at Arizona Ball Room, 207, Memorial Union from 12:15 pm.

For his friends, Ajay will be remembered as a very affable, enthusiastic and fun loving guy. His teachers will remember him as an intelligent, sincere and a very respectful student. He was always helpful and this attribute of his made him a trustworthy friend of many Indians at ASU. In him, we have lost a great friend and a charismatic person. His memories will be cherished by one and all for a longtime and the void created by his demise will always be felt.

May Ajay's soul rest in peace.
