NEWS:

10/11/07: We have had an amazing string of visitors to our meetings this semester. Most recently, Master Michelle Langren Lee came to educate us about essential self-defense strategies and knowledge to prevent attacks. Earlier this semester we were visited by Dr. Mary Margaret Fonow, who directs the Women and Gender Studies Department. Dr. Fonow shared about her personal research and the integration of coursework from the Women and Gender Studies department into the varied programs of the women of GWA.

8/30/07: Last night, the GWA had our first official meeting of the 2007-2008 school year. We are off to a great start, with lots of new people adding fresh intelligence and variety to our group. Potential ideas for mid-month social gatherings include a potluck dinner or Trivia Night at Rula Bula-Stay tuned for dates!

8/8/07: The GWA is excited to annouce our tenative meeting schedule for the Fall 2007 semester. We are sure you will find some fun and informative events to attend!

6/12/07: We are continuing plans on building membership for 2007-2008 and enjoying the summer!

3/10/07: Our new Listserv and Discussion board are up and running! Click here for instructions on how to join!

3/8/07: Tabling at the International Women's Day Fair was a success! We met a lot of new people and spread the word about the reforming of the GWA. We are looking forward to some new faces at the next meeting.



Mission Statement:

The purpose of this organization is to address issues commonly encountered by graduate women. As an organization we will facilitate interdisciplinary interactions for both professional and social development. We will foster an open forum for members to seek positive solutions, feedback, and support. We will actively seek, provide, and prepare participants for mentoring relationships both within and outside the ASU community.
