Please call 1-800-553-1826 for reservations in order to receive the special rate of $109.00 single/double occupancy. This rate cannot be obtained online. Make sure you identify your association with the "Southwest Graduate English Symposium," code "SWG," in order to get the special rate. Also, please be sure to call well in advance of the conference. Spring is peak season in Arizona, and The Holiday Inn cannot ensure this rate if the hotel becomes booked.
For your convenience, there is a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport. Simply call the above number (after you have retrieved your luggage) and request a pick-up.
Flying
If you are flying to the Phoenix Metro area, you will arrive at Sky Harbor Airport. The airport has three terminals numbered 2, 3, and 4. You can cab to the Holiday Inn/Sahuaro Hall area (about $20) or take the city bus from the airport ($1.25), which will take a little longer, but be much less costly.You can ask the curbside attendants where the nearest bus or cab stop is located when you arrive.
Busing
If you arrive at terminal 3 or 4, you can take the Red Line East to Mill and University in Tempe, which is the edge of campus. To go directly to either Holiday Inn or Sahuaro Hall stay on the bus until it turns onto E. Apache. For Sahuaro Hall, get off at the stop near McAllister. For Holiday Inn, use the stop at Rural Road.
If you arrive at terminal 2, you can take one of the free green airport Roadrunner shuttles to either terminal 3 or 4 and then take the Red Line East to Tempe from there (same as above).
