Religious Festival of Sacrifice

Location: Schnepf Farms, 22601 E. Cloud Road, Queen Creek, AZ 85242

Many years ago, Prophet Abraham was going to sacrifice his son Ishmael (Isaac in Bible) for the sake of God due to his oath he had given before. Then for his loyalty, God sent him a lamb instead of his son. This program is the annual celebration of this event. This event has some social dimensions in Muslim societies. Firstly, those who have sufficient financial resources sacrifice some of their resources to support poor people in the society. To this end, for our program we contacted a number of Muslims who will make contributions to make support some refugees and homeless people in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. We are also planning to give a free dinner in a church to Christian students of AZ Lost Boys. Second social dimension of the festival is its being a forum for the community to become together. The children are awarded in this event. The thing that we did in this respect is to gather families from different religious faiths and to contribute the establishment of an understanding among them and also to create an environment where the children of these families from various religions can play together (click for more detailed document).
