Mission:
The American Medical Student Association (AMSA) is a fully-independent, student-governed, non-profit organization committed to representing the concerns of physicians-in-training in our nation. With more than a half-century history of medical student activism and over 68,000 members, AMSA is the oldest and largest association of physicians-in-training in the United States.
ASU AMSA History and Goals:
The Arizona State University Main Chapter was chartered in 2001 and remains true to the AMSA values. In the fall of 2004, local members started two new ASU AMSA Chapters at the ASU West and ASU East campuses. Our three chapters are devoted to providing educational benefits, advancement opportunities, community service projects, and clinical experience for all pre-health, nursing, undergraduate, and graduate students at Arizona State University. Our goal is to help further your educational career in medicine and the health sciences.
The greatest benefit of being an AMSA member is that you can carry your membership through your undergraduate career, medical school, and residency to make a decade of difference! Log onto www.amsa.org/about to find out more about the history of AMSA.
