Welcome to AIGSA, the American Indian Graduate Student Association at Arizona State University.
As graduate students, we are often very busy, and don't have much time to maintain our website, so, please understand that our webpage is always under construction. However, below you can find some information about current events, as well as contact information for our organization:
The AIGSA maintains a LISTSERV for its members. Through the use of this LISTSERV, members are able to share information with other AIGSA members, such as fellowship opportunities, social events, or even jokes! (Yes, we have a sense of humor) If you would like to be added to this list, please send an e-mail to Richard.Meyers@asu.edu
UPCOMING EVENTS:
AIGSA has started
work on a mentorship program for American Indian Undergraduate students. If you
are interested in participating in the program as a student, or a mentor, or
would like to help with the development of this program, please contact Richie
using the email address above. You can download a student information form here.
AIGSA is going to sponsor
a brown bag series to be held at the American Indian Institute (AII). If you are interested, please
contact Richie using the link above. The tentative schedule of
presentations will be kicked off with Richie this Thursday at 2:30pm in the conference
room at the AII. These brown bag events will be weekly opportunities for graduate students
to share their research and work with other grad students and the undergrad population. THe goal
is to bridge the relationship between native undergrads and grad students, as well as allow
the grad students to network and practice for our respective endeavors. If you have any suggestions
for other activities for AIGSA, please do not
hesitate to post these to the LISTSERV. Possible ideas suggested so
