Pledge Requirements

The first step to becoming a member is to become an ASU chapter pledge. This is a student accumulating volunteer hours and attending AED meetings and socials in order to become a chapter member. There is a $45 pledge fee, which pays for the monthly newsletter, meeting activities and snacks, as well as the induction dinner at the end of the school year when pledges are inducted as chapter members and receive their certificates. Pledges are responsible for completing a minimum of 40 community service hours (20 must be from an AED event or sponsored event), and must attend 5 AED meetings and 2 additional events (meetings or socials) throughout the school year. A cumulative and science GPA of 3.2 or better is also required, verified by a copy of your most recent semester grades, turned in with the rest of your requirements.

The deadline for your pledge appication is April 1st. Complete your packet and submit it to the Life Sciences C-wing 206 (The Pre-Health Office). This packet shall include:

1) A Member Information sheet.

2) Community Service Form with 40 HOURS listed (20 from AED events) and any contact information.

3) A copy of the students most recent semester grades verifying that they have BOTH A CUMULATIVE AND SCIENCE GPA ABOVE 3.2.

4) $45 Pledge Fee (checks made out to Alpha Epsilon Delta).

5) Verification of attendance at 5 meetings (which will be verified by the Secretary and it is imperative that each member signs in at each meeting).

6) Verification of attendance at2 socials (which will be verified by the Secretary and it is imperative that each member signs in at each social).

***Each piece of paper in the packet should have the member's name on it in case it is separated from the other papers. All documents can be found on the document page of the AED section of MyASU webpage. Please staple your packet together!***
