Fundraising

 

n      Caroling for different functions

 

How much would we charge?

 

      *Brook Larson’s professional group charges 300/hr and 400/2 hrs.

      Motion to charge 200/hr is unanimous

 

      *Any money we receive as payment must go directly into an account

                  -If a caroler is going to LA, he or she may put $30 of the $50 s/he would                                  earn for ACDA toward his/her personal trip.  This money will be put in                                 the ACDA account initially, but earmarked for that specific person.

                  -Angie is getting our ACDA account set up at the Credit Union

 

 

Publicity

     

      **We need to put signs up around campus and the surrounding communities.

      -Christina will preemptively use money for flyers.

      -Remember to put up flyers in upscale shopping districts.

     

What groups would be available, and when?

     

      Forms were handed out to people at the meeting in order to determine availability          and voice part.  Groups may organize themselves, or Elvin will form the quartets based on the information he is given.

      **All groups must be screened by Dr. Schildkret or Dr. Gentry before they         perform.

 

 

n      New Secretary

      Cathy Compton is transferring at semester.

      Elvin Dioquino nominated Rebecca Wolfe as new secretary.

      No other nominations.

      Rebecca Wolfe unanimously voted new secretary.

 

n      National Convention

      February 2-5, 2005.

     

Transportation

 

      Southwest:  Flights from $98.20/round trip

      United: Flights from $108.39/round trip

      Suggestion to fly to Burbank because it is much easier and closer.

 

      Carpooling is probably best bet, as most will need cars in LA anyway.

 

Hotels

 

Are mostly booked, but a few have opened up on the ACDA website: http://www.acdaonline.org/

 

      LA Athletic Club- $128/day including parking

      Hilton- 2 people:  $70/day

                  4 people:  $35/day

 

      Elvin is booking rooms for ASU’s group out of his own pocket.  Interested people        should pay him a $20 deposit to hold their place in a room.

Pre-registration for conference ends December 17^th.

 

 

n      Next Semester

     

      Funds from Caroling (?)

 

Bring in some local people for workshops

      -Burt Evans, Dobson High School:  Sol fege in the classroom

      -Dr Doan, ASU:  pedagogy lecture

 

ASU officers meet with NAU officers to see what they are doing

      Tentatively scheduled for weekend after Thanksgiving (?)

 

Work on unifying chapters to get quality lecturers to AZ

 

n      4 Corners Workshop, Flagstaff, AZ

     

Registration for students is FREE

 

Weekend of reading sessions, etc.
