III. Joe DÕAmbrosio Clamshell workshop and lecture
The workshop will be offered on two days, Saturday April 9th and Sunday April 10th 2005 9-5pm in the type shop.
The fee is $35 for ABBA members, $80 for nonmembers (price includes supplies)
Each workshop is limited to 12 participants

V. ASU funding opportunities:
There is a March deadline for undergraduate funding for student groups at ASU.
Thank you to Sharon Billings who has volunteered to be the undergraduate representative for ABBA.
ABBA would like to have more undergraduate students as members- please publicize our organization to those who might be interested in joining.
VI. Harry Wood Show and auction next fall:
Exhibition dates are October 31st-November 4th
ItÕs not too early to think about auction items to benefit ABBA. If you have items you would like to auction, or come across a worthwhile donation, please keep if for October.

VIII. Visiting artist: Susan Kae Grant
Meng Foo has invited artist Susan Kae Grant to visit ASU next fall, October 6-11th, 2005. This visit will include an exhibit and talk about her work in Northlight Gallery.
Susan Grant is the head of photography and book arts at Texas WomenÕs University and the recipient of numerous awards in her field.
ABBA will sponsor a private lecture with Susan Grant on the artistic process of bookmaking. This event will be for ABBA members only. Details to follow.
IX. Lecture: ÒOn CollaborationÓ in conjunction with the Visual Text project.
A lecture and discussion with book artist Linda Smith and writer Alberto Rios will be held on Thursday, Feb. 17th, 2005 at 7:30pm.
The lecture will be held at the Piper Writers House (next to Old Main) on ASUÕs main campus.
This event is free and open to the public.

TEBAG- Tucson Book Arts Guild, Paper Portal, Paper Works
ABBA is making contact with these Tucson based organizations.
TBAG would like to come visit the ASU letterpress and book arts studio. Arrangements are in the process of being made. Details to follow.
Art Detour
ABBA member Donna Atwood has offered space at her home (on the Art Detour route) to show artists books. For those who are interested contact atwood@amug.org
Studio Lodo
This previously commercial gallery in downtown Phoenix has transitioned into a non-profit organization. They recently published the AZ Contemporary Artist Guide, which Dan Mayer is featured in.
This may be a future venue for showing ABBA work.
The Writers Block
A new writerÕs gallery in Phoenix, dedicated to showing text based work. This may be a future venue for ABBA work.
Tohona Chul Park and Paperworks in Tucson: is having a show:
"Bound and Unbound, Artist Books and other Paper Constructions- featuring artists books, collage, handmade paper and artworks where paper is the primary medium."
Our very own Katherine Nicholson (who was awarded 1st place in the Artists Books category!), Dan Mayer and Ashlee Weitlauf have work in this exhibit.
The show will be open January 20th- March 27th, 2005
