The Wells Fargo Transborder Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies Research Scholarship 2007-08

Open to majors in the Department of Transborder Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies

Application deadline: Thursday, November 1, 2007 ( 5:00 p.m. )

We are pleased to announce a scholarship opportunity for junior and senior undergraduates who major in Transborder Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies. Four $2,500 scholarships will be presented for the spring 2008 semester. TCLS majors who are interested in participating in research or creative projects with TCLS and TCLS affiliated faculty are encouraged to apply for this $2,500 award.

Please be sure to complete the application materials by the deadline for consideration. Applicants will be notified of the scholarship decisions by December 7, 2007 and the scholarship will be available for the spring 2008 semester. Recipients are expected to collaborate with a TCLS or TCLS affliated faculty mentor during spring semester and summer. This timetable is designed so recipients will be able to present their research results to the public at a symposium held in their honor fall semester 2007

Wells Fargo Scholars in Business and in Transborder Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies Scholarship

The W. P. Carey School of Business and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences select four students for the Wells Fargo Scholarships each year, two students from the School of Business and two either from the minor or degree programs offered by the Department of Transborder Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies. Applications are available at The Spirit of Enterprise Center (BA 101), the Undergraduate Office (BA 109) in the School of Business, the Academic Programs Office (Social Science 111) in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the Department of Transborder Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies, Coor Hall (6633), as well as on the web pages of each college at the following URLs:

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences annually awards $1000 Dean's Circle scholarships to the college's best and brightest undergraduate students. Degree-granting departments, schools and programs administer the application and select the recipient. Applications must be submitted to the department by Feb. 25, 2007.

The Project for Equity, Representation, and Governance and the Department of Political Science at Texas A&M University is pleased to invite submissions for the 2007 Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Research in the field of Latino Politics.
