Ideas to Share

Often what is needed to help a child participate is an idea for an adaptation that will make participation possible.

Ideas to Share are classified by Functional Skills and by Activity/Routine. Click on the icon that best describes what you are looking for:

  • if you need an idea to help a child hold objects, click on the functional skills icon which will then allow you to choose "arms and hands" where you will find many suggestions for how to help a child hold objects.
  • maybe you are looking for a way to help a child play with toys, make choices during mealtimes, or play outside on the playground. Click on the activities/routines icon which will then allow you to choose an icon for the activity/routine for which you need ideas.

Ideas to Share have been contributed by people working with young children in early intervention programs across the county. If you have an Idea to Share, please email Jill.McLeod@Jefferson.edu and include a description of your idea. Pictures are always helpful. Jill will then work with you so that we can add your idea to this growing Ideas to Share resource.
