My research
interests are chronic health conditions, functional heath, mental health,
health professions, and aging. Specific projects that I
am working on now include: what health factors affect the relationship
between aging and the sense of control, how severity and duration of
arthritis impact functional limitations, the effect of life transitions
on suicide
in the elderly, racial/ethnic differences in trajectories of functional
health, and the turf battle between certified registered nurse anesthetists
and anesthesiologists.
