Eileen Diaz McConnell joined the faculty at ASU in the Department of Transborder Chicano/a and Latino/a Studies in Fall 2006. Her research interests include Latina/o Demography, especially the growth and change of Latino populations in non-traditional areas of the United States; Latino migration; homeownership and housing issues related to wealth accumulation; and the collection and public dissemination of racial/ethnic data in federal sources. Her most recent projects explore the factors associated with Mexican immigrant homeownership using the 2001 Los Angeles County Mexican Immigrant Residency Status Survey, racial/ethnic inequality in housing outcomes using the L.A. Family and Neighborhood Survey, and immigrant housing outcomes nationwide using the 2003 New Immigrant Survey.
