My research focuses on human fertility, particularly interaction with social dynamics. I seek to answer how, where, why, and when fertility behavior changes in diverse societies.  My research covers a wide range, from fertility decline in developing countries to low fertility in developed countries.  I examine how various factors, such as education, gender, migration, epidemics, social network, policy, and so on, affect fertility changes. Particularly I am interested in understanding the micro and macro dynamics of the Second Demographic Transition and predicting demographic responses to diverse social changes.  My dissertation topic focuses on the change of fertility (behavior) over time.
