Join us at CAMWS! The Classical Association of the Middle West and South is holding its 104th annual meeting this year in Tucson! From April 16-19, 2008, classical scholars from all over the midwest and southern states will gather to attend workshops, lectures, awards ceremonies, book displays, and receptions. This is one of the biggest regional classics conferences in the nation and it’s right in our backyard this year! If you’re interested in attending, visit the the Classical Association of the Middle West and South to see the program of events and to register.
Welcome Professor Tueller! Michael Tueller will join the Classics Faculty at ASU this fall from Brigham Young University. Michael Tueller has a doctoral degree from Harvard and is an expert on Greek and Latin poetry, in particular Hellenistic epigram. He is very active in his research and has several forthcoming projects including a book entitled Voice and Identity in Hellenistic Epigram. In his post as Assistant Professor of Classics, he will anchor our offerings in ancient Greek. We are very excited to welcome him and his family to the Arizona State University community. So if you’ve been waiting for a good reason to take that ancient Greek class, now is the time!
