Student Eligibility
The ASU Field School in Kampsville, IL is an annual Arizona State University program. ASU students enrolled for the Spring 2008 semester are admitted to the ASU Center for Global Education Services programs, too. Students presently attending any other college or university may apply to the ASU Field School. High school juniors and seniors in the concurrent enrollment program are also eligible to apply. Applications for concurrent enrollment may be obtained through Arizona State University Center for Global Education Services.
All Field School students are formally enrolled in Arizona State University for the duration of the program. They receive Arizona State University credits that are transferable to other colleges and universities in most instances. Students should check with their university registrar or other official to determine transferability of Arizona State University Field School credits.
Registration in the Field School does not constitute admission into any Arizona State University degree program. Students other than Arizona State University degree candidates may petition to apply Field School credits toward an Arizona State University degree only if they apply to, and are admitted as Arizona State University degree candidates.
Because the Field School is largely sponsored by student tuition, it is not possible to include non-enrolled volunteer excavators.
Students are expected to comply with all federal, state, and local laws. Noncompliance is grounds for immediate dismissal from the Field School.
Application
Deadline: All applications and support material must be postmarked by: May 15.
The application process for the field school requires two applications. All students must first apply online through the ASU Center for Global Education Services. The Center for Global Education Services requires a $275 deposit for their application. Students not accepted to the field school will be refunded.
Once you have completed the Center for Global Education Services application, we will forward the ASU Archaeological Field School Supplemental Application to you. This will be your application for our program. In addition to the Supplemental Application, you must submit the following:
- One (1) letter of recommendation from an individual familiar with your academic work
- One (1) unofficial transcript from your current institution
Letters of recommendation and transcripts must be received via mail by the postmark deadline.
All applications must be processed by the Center for Global Education Services before they can be assessed by the Kampsville program director. If you have any questions about this process, please email cges@asu.edu or kampsville@asu.edu, or call the Center for Global Education Services at 480-965-5965.
Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.
