Acosta, Jazmin (jazmin.acosta@asu.edu) Behavioral Neuroscience, Advisor: Bimonte-Nelson . My research interests are hormone replacement, aging and cognition.

Anderson, Uriah (uriah.anderson@asu.edu) Social, Advisor: Linder. I am interested in determinants of human affiliation and functional approaches to understanding cognitive processes, such as attention and memory.

Avila, Irene (iavila@imap2.asu.edu) Behavioral Neuroscience, Advisor: Castaneda. My research interests are in understanding how the loss of dopamine, in a rat model of Parkinson's disease, alters brain activity in the basal ganglia-thalamocortical loops and how intermittent dopamine replacement leads to motor dysfunction.

Barnhart, Anthony (Anthony.Barnhart@asu.edu) Cognitive, Advisor: Goldinger.  I am currently pursuing research in both psycholinguistics and attention.  My primary focus is on the processes underlying handwritten word recognition in humans.  I also study the phenomenon of inattentional blindness in the context of viewing magic tricks.


Bekman, Shannon
(shannon.bekman@asu.edu), Clinical, Advisor: Crnic. My research focuses on the development of self-regulation in preschoolers, specifically as influenced by parenting, in both risk and non-risk samples . Clinical interests include: infant/early childhood mental health, trauma and maltreatment

Bolnick, Rebecca (rebecca.bolnick@asu.edu) Developmental, Advisor: Fabricius. My research interests stem from both children's early language development and emotional development. I am primarily interested in how these systems influence one another and effect the child's emerging theory of mind.

Boring, Jesse (jesse.boring@asu.edu) Clinical, Advisor: Crnic. My research is focused on developmental family processes, particularly parenting. I am especially interested in the transition to parenthood and studying the early family system.

Chow, Wai-Ying (wai@asu.edu) Clinical, Advisor: Wolchik. My research interests include child and adolescent stress, resilience, and prevention in at-risk populations (e.g., urban, ethnic minority, low SES) and implications for policy.

Coxe, Stefany (stefany.coxe@asu.edu) Quantitative, Advisors: Aiken and West. My research interests include different types of regression models and their interaction effects.

DaSilva, Flavio (flavio.dasilva@asu.edu) Cognitive, Advisor: McBeath. My current research involves the creation of wearable robotics to retrain stroke survivors to use their effected limbs.

Diaz, Priscila (priscila.diaz@asu.edu) Social, Advisor: Saenz. Broadly, my research goal is to examine how cultural and social processes such as culture, intergroup conflict, group status prejudice, and discrimination impede the achievements and well-being of minorities.

Dolgov, Igor (igor.dolgov@asu.edu) Cognitive, Advisor: McBeath. My research examines the effect of symmetry axes on the perception of moving targets in real-world and artificially constructed settings. 

Edwards, Alison (alison.edwards@asu.edu) Developmental, Advisor: Eisenberg. My research interests include children's emotionality, emotion-regulation, empathy, and prosocial behavior.

Eggum, Natalie (natalie.eggum@asu.edu) Developmental, Advisor: Eisenberg. My interests include parent-child interaction, childhood shyness/behavioral inhibition, emotion-regulation, empathy,and prosocial behavior.

Engler, Elizabeth (elizabeth.engler@asu.edu) Behavioral Neuroscience, Advisor: Bimonte-Nelson. I investigate the effects of ovarian hormone loss associated with menopause/estropause, hormone replacement therapy, and the declines in cognition associated with aging.


Fairchild, Amanda (amanda.fairchild@asu.edu) Quantitative, Advisor: MacKinnon. My research focuses on the intersection of mediation and moderation models. I am looking at methods to examine both statistics in single datasets.

Fasman, Rob (robert.fasman@asu.edu) Clinical (health) Advisor: Zautra. I am interested in interelations between mind and body, with a focus on the mechanisms and psychological/physiological benefits of social affiliation, positive affective states, and moral living.

George, Preethy (preethy.george@asu.edu) Clinical, Advisor: Gonzales. My research interests focus on the prevention of poor mental health outcomes among ethnically diverse children and adolescents, particularly those living in low-income communities.

Griskevicius, Vladas (vladasg@asu.edu) Social, Advisors: Cialdini and Kenrick. My research interests are evolutionary psychology and social influence, as well as on motivation and self-presentation.

Hagan, Melissa (Melissa.Hagan@asu.edu) Clinical, Advisor: Sandler. My research interests include  parent-child interactions and developmental risk and resilience (particularly in young children).

Hansen, Whitney (whitney.hansen@asu.edu) Cognitive, Advisor: Goldinger. My research looks at how individual differences in working memory capacity predict and/or affect mental control.

Hessler, Eric (eric.hessler@asu.edu) Cognitive, Advisor: P. Amazeen. I am interested in coordination and learning in motor skills and the application of dynamical models to those topics.

Holloway, Steve (srh@asu.edu) Cognitive, Advisor: McBeath. My research interests are concerned with the mechanisms involved with perceptual learning and information processing in the lower levels of the visual system.  Specifically, I am investigating the relation between processing in the dorsal stream pathway of the human primary visual system and gross motor coordination, target acquisition and reading ability in normal readers and the reading disabled.

Hout, Michael (michael.hout@asu.edu) Cognitive, Advisor: Goldinger. Interests: I am interested mainly in memory, attention and visual cognition.  Specifically, my interests include working memory, incidental learning, implicit learning, and object recognition.  Regarding eye movements, I'm interested in the degree to which individual fixation durations reflect differing attentional/processing capabilities, the degree to which scan-paths may (or may not) be represented in a memory trace, and pupillometry.

Jacobson, Ryan (ryan.jacobson@asu.edu) Social, Advisor: Knight. I have interests in the areas of culture and the self, evolutionary perspectives on culture, and processes of normative influence. I am currently investigating the role of cultural context in shaping behavior and sense of self among bicultural individuals.

Kathy Johnson (kathryn.a.johnson@asu.edu), Social,  Advisor: Cohen.  I am interested in the ways in which people from different cultures and different religions extend the category of "person" to include invisible beings (God, angels, demons, deceased ancestors, etc.), non-human living things (pets, animals, unborn humans, etc.), or inanimate objects (rocks, mountains, statues, rivers, etc.).

Kinderdietz, Jeffrey (Jeffrey.Kinderdietz@asu.edu) Clinical, Advisor: Zautra. My research focuses on health psychology; pain management; neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation of acquired brain dysfunction (e.g., head injury, tumor, multiple sclerosis, stroke, dementia); psychological assessment.

Kratz, Anna (Anna.Kratz@asu.edu) Clinical, Advisor: Davis. Research interests include: Adaptation to chronic pain, social aspects of coping, & adjustment to reproductive difficulities.

Lee, Soyoung (soyoung.lee@asu.edu) Quantitative, Advisor: Millsap. My research interests concern latent variable models, measurement invariance and the analysis of ordered-categorical data.

Ma, Yue (yue@asu.edu) Quantitative, Advisors: Aiken and West. My research interests include interaction effect testing and longitudinal data analysis.

McDonald, Kristy (kristy.mcdonald@asu.edu) Developmental, Advisor: Lemery-Chalfant. I am particularily interested in psychological stress and the influences stress has upon young children's development. I am interested in prenatal risks and early resiliency in young children, individual differences between resilient children, and the possible pathways leading to child psychopathology. 

Mortensen, Chad (chad.mortensen@asu.edu) Social, Advisor: Cialdini. Current interests include moderators that affect the incorporation of factual and fictional messages into memory, evolutionary psychology as a framework for social influence, and bases of universal social norms and their use as influence tactics.

Moser, Stephanie (stephanie.moser@asu.edu) Social, Advisor: Aiken. My research focuses on the different factors relating to women's decisions to undergo elective surgery. I am also interested in the role of emotions in decision making, such as anticipated regret.

Murray, Kate (kate.murray@asu.edu) Clinical, Advisor: Zautra. My research interests include refugee resettlement and the impact of communities, programming and policy on health.

Naranjo, Diana (diana.naranjo@asu.edu) Clinical, Advisor: Barrera. My research focuses on prevention, namely risk and resilience factors in Mexican American popultations including acculturation and family relationships.

Neufeld, Samantha (Samantha.Neufeld@asu.edu) Social, Advisor: Shiota. I am interested in the functional relevance of emotions. My research focuses on the differentiation of specific positive emotions, using a multimethod approach that includes the Facial Action Coding System, psychophysiological data, and interview.

O'Brien, T. Caitlin (tcobrien@asu.edu) Developmental, Advisor: Lemery-Chalfant. My research interests include the study of resilience in at-risk children and adolescents, cultural issues in resilience, and behavioral and molecular genetic designs.

Smith, Jason (jason.f.smith@asu.edu) Cognitive, Advisor: Alexander. Application of large-scale neurobiologically realistic computational models to attention, ageing and dimentia, and multi-modal information processing and integration; Multivariate analysis methods for fMRI.

Sokol, Karina (karina.sokol@asu.edu) Developmental, Advisor: Lemery and Fabricius. My research interests focus on children who have experienced a stressful event, specifically family stressors like parental divorce and parental conflict. I am also interested in attachment relationships and children's stress responsivity.

Steinberg, Julia (julia.steinberg@asu.edu) Social, Advisor: Russo and Okun. My research focuses on women and science, pregnancy outcomes and mental health, body image.

Tartaro, Jessica (Jessica.Tartaro@asu.edu) Clinical, Advisors: Nemeroff and Karoly. My research focuses on the sources of strength to which individuals turn when confronting a cancer diagnosis, including spirituality and religion, and the potential of growth through challenge. My clinical interests include working with low-income communities, women's empowerment and LGBTQ issues.

Taylor, Aaron (aaron.taylor@asu.edu) Quantitative, Advisor: Aiken. My research concerns assessing the fit of structural equation models and applications of permutation tests and bootstrap methods, particularly to mediational models. I am also researching issues related to logistic regression.

Terrell, Heather (Heather.Terrell@asu.edu) Social, Advisor: Nagoshi. My research focuses on the interaction of gender differences and personality with regard to aggression, gender differences in sexual behavior, gender identity, and the mental health effects of pregnancy in women's lives.

Terry, Donovan (donovan.terry@asu.edu) Behavioral Neuroscience, Advisor: Bimonte-Nelson. My research seeks to better understand the biological factors underlying cognitive aging, particularly as they relate to Alzheimer's Disease and hormone replacement therapy.

Thoemmes, Felix (felix.thoemmes@asu.edu) Quantitative, Advisor: West. I am interested in Latent Class Models, the history of statistics, and some aspects of evolutionary psychology.

Research Interests: Risk and resiliency factors for substance use and misuse across adolescence and young adulthood; neighborhood-level influences on individual outcomes; cognitive factors associated with high-risk behaviors; longitudinal data analysis.
