- Grand Canyon: The Grand Canyon is as big as it is beautiful and is located less than a day's drive north from Tempe.
- Sedona, AZ: Sedona, located north of Tempe, was voted one of America's 10 most beautiful places. It's a great place to spend the day hiking, sightseeing, or taking a Jeep tour of the red rocks.
- Dave's Doghouse: The best place for a quick and satisfying hot dog for lunch located very close to campus.
- Four Peaks Brewery: Our favorite place to congregate as a lab after hours (great food and better drinks), and a great place to celebrate major accomplishments such as completion of a first year project or obtaining your masters or doctorate degrees.
- ASU Athletics: The Athletic Program at Arizona State is part of the PAC-10 conference, and our baseball and football programs are among the NCAA's best.
- Phoenix Suns: One of the NBA's premiere franchises led by league MVP Steve Nash, the Suns play at US Airways Arena in Phoenix.
- Arizona Diamondbacks: Baseball is big in Arizona, and the Diamondbacks make their home at Chase Field in nearby Phoenix. You get a great view of the field and can even go swimming during the game! The greater Phoenix area is also a Mecca for baseball spring training programs.
- Phoenix Coyotes: Yes, you can play ice hockey in Arizona (at least indoors anyway). The Coyotes head coach is the Great Wayne Gretzky.
- Arizona Cardinals: The Cardinals just moved into the beautiful and state-of-the-art Cardinals Stadium in nearby Glendale. With season tickets sold out for the first time in the desert and additions of Edgerrin James and Matt Leinart in the offseason, the Cards are hoping for big things this year.
- AZcentral: Though not a physical location in Arizona, AZcentral is Arizona's “homepage” that has local news, weather, and anything else you might ever want to know about Arizona.
