Miki Caul Kittilson joined the department in fall 2004. She earned her BA from Arizona State University, MA and PhD from University of California, Irvine. She compares participation, parties, and women and politics across established industrial democracies, with a focus on Western Europe. Her current projects address three themes from a comparative perspective: 1) the connections between macro-economic policy, group mobilization and voter engagement since the 1950s; 2) core values and partisanship; 3) family and equality policy. She is the author of Challenging Parties, Changing Parliaments: Women and Elected Office in Contemporary Western Europe (Forthcoming, 2006. Ohio State University Press. Parliaments and Legislatures Series), and has published articles in journals such as International Organization, Journal of Politics, Comparative Political Studies, Politics and Gender, the American Review of Politics, and Party Politics.
