American Politics
Political behavior is examined using survey research,
experimental designs, and content analysis to collect data and conduct
statistical analyses of mass voting patters, campaign strategies, party
politics, the role of the media in political communication, agenda-setting
and policy development in Congress, court decision making, impact and
implementation of court decisions, and elite-mass linkages. Faculty also
focus on campaign finance regulations, intergovernmental relations, gender
issues, electoral reform, third parties, and interest groups.
