Applications for financial aid that are received after February 15 will be considered if resources are available.
  • Applications to the M.A. or Ph.D. program involve submission of some materials to the Graduate College and other materials to the department.
Graduate College procedures are described at Applying for Graduate Study.
Application forms (or on-line applications), fees, transcripts and test scores should be sent to the Graduate College.
The philosophy department requires that applicants take the GRE.
International applicants whose native language is other than English are required by the Graduate College to have TOEFL scores reported.
  • Applicants should arrange to have three letters of recommendation (on university letterhead) sent to the philosophy department.
  • A statement of purpose and writing sample are required and should be sent to the department.
    The address is given below.
As indicated in the next section, applications for financial support should also be sent to the philosophy department.
