There are a lot of graduate
programs and many way of sorting through them. Below are links to lists
of programs and various rankings. But first a word of caution: Attempts
at ranking programs involve controversy, and the ranking of philosophy
graduate programs is no exception. The Philosophical Gourmet Report
is perhaps the most widely used ranking, at least by prospective graduate
students. But its popularity has generated much criticism and discussion
and discussion).
In short, it seems that
the Gourmet report may be best used as a "first-cut" for narrowing
one's list of prospective schools that match one's interests and abilities.
More, and perhaps better, information will come from faculty members
and independent research (e.g., individual department web pages, and
conversations with the faculty and graduate students at these departments).
