The Friends of Philosophy Program

The ASU Friends of Philosophy program includes many of our alumni, faculty, and staff, as well as other friends and supporters of our programs. All donations of Friends members are used to support student-related activities, including our undergraduate essay prize, partial funding for activities of the Philosophy Club, and our Spring reception.

We have been able to provide travel funds to help some of our graduate students attend the Pacific meetings of the American Philosophical Association as well as to present papers at other philosophy-related conferences. Friends' support has also helped fund travel expenses for visits by guest philosophers to our graduate and undergraduate courses and to Philosophy Club meetings.

All of these activities are very valuable enhancements to our programs. We are grateful for the past support from Friends of Philosophy members, we hope they will continue helping us and our students in the future, and we encourage others to join them. To join the ASU Friends of Philosophy contact the program's coordinator, Lee Quarrie, by e-mail at Lee.Quarrie@asu.edu or by mail or phone at the Philosophy Department office.

Ms. Quarrie compiles, edits, and produces a newsletter about Philosophy Department activities once or twice each year and mails it to alumni, Friends, and our current students. To add your name to our mailing list, or to notify us of a change of address, contact her in one of the ways just mentioned.
