James Kugel
The
2004 Albert & Liese Eckstein Scholar in Residence is James Kugel,
the Director of the Institute for the History of the Jewish Bible
at Bar Ilan University in Israel. Professor
Kugel also serves as
the Meisler Professor of Bible at Bar Ilan, and served as the Starr Professor
of Hebrew Literature at Harvard University from 1982 - 2003. He is the author
of some forty research articles & ten books, including: The God of Old,
The Bible As It Was, In Potiphar’s House, & Early
Biblical Interpretation.
