Making
a Contribution
A gift to the Jewish Studies Program is not only an investment in higher education,
but an investment in the community and the future. The Program provides students
and the public with educational opportunities through courses, annual conferences,
free public lectures, and other events that examine Jewish history and culture.
It is furthering the understanding of Judaica by generating and facilitating
research in the field, expanding the Hayden Judaica Collection, and bringing
renound scholars to ASU.
Your contribution to the Jewish Studies Program will help facilitate and expand
the Program's educational opportunites. Each gift is a reflection of your personal
values and interests, and should also reflect your needs and preferences. There
are many different options for making a gift to Jewish Studies. Several of them
may offer significant tax benefits for you as a donor. Please consult with your
financial advisor about which method is best for you.
Outright Gifts
These gifts are made during your lifetime and provide you with immediate tax
benfits as well as the rewards of achieving your objective of supporting the
Program. Many employers will match their employees' gifts to charitable organizations.
Check your company's matching gifts
policy - your gift could go twice as far!
Cash (cash/check/credit card) gifts are the most popular means of
giving to the Program. They are convenient and tax deductable. Even the smallest
gift makes a difference! Please note that all checks should be made payable
to the ASU Foundation, and can be mailed to the Jewish Studies Program | PO
Box 870302 | Tempe, AZ 85287-0302
Appreciated Property such as publicly traded stock, closely held
stock, bonds and real estate can be given as gifts to the Program. When considering
a gift of appreciated property, enlist the counsel of your personal tax advisor.
Planning for Tomorrow
Some donors prefer to make contributions that will continue to give in perpetuity.
Long-term giving opportunities include Scholarships and Grants, Endowments,
Trusts, and Bequests. For details on these opportunities please contact the
Jewish Studies Office via email or
by phone at 480-727-6906.
ASU Foundation
All gifts are deposited into accounts maintained by the ASU
Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization whose purpose is to support Arizona
State University. For this reason all charitable gift checks must be made out
to the ASU Foundation.
