The Hillel program at Arizona State University is directed by Rabbi
Barton G. Lee and offers a wide range of social, cultural, and religious
experiences to students, including events that take full advantage of the University's
distinctive locale such as a Seder in the Desert and a Grand Canyon camp-out
on Sukkot. Highlights of the program are an active Israel Program in conjunction
with Hebrew University and Ben-Gurion University, an annual Israeli Scholar-in-Residence,
the Teaching Scholar Program, the Rosh Chodesh Women's Group, the Freshman Leadership
Opportunity Program, a mentor program, Chevra (serving young adults ages 21-33),
Kertzer research scholarships, and intramural sports teams.
The campus site is located just west of Arizona State University's Main campus,
and features a library, lounge, and offices. Students interested in the availibility
of kosher food will find it available nearby, there are dormitory cooking facilities,
and Hillel serves a kosher lunch each week. Weekly Shabbat services are offered
and are pluralistic in denomination.
