This dual IC system determines analyte concentrations using chromatography
columns and a pulsed electrochemical conductivity detector. It is typically
used for automated testing of aqueous solutions. It is capable of measuring
a wide variety of ions, given the appropriate eluant and analytical column.
Currently, we are able to measure the major anions: Fluoride, Chloride,
Bromide, Nitrate, Nitrite, Phosphate, and Sulfate as well as numerous other
anions using an AS23 column. The dual configuration enables simultaneous measurement
over a wide (> 10 6 ) concentration range. It can be
reconfigured to analyze cations if required. The ICS 2000 instrument is
equipped with an eluent generator permitting gradient or stepped analysis offering
improved peak resolution. The autosampler will accommodate up to 66 vials
of 5 mL size, 88 vials of 0.5 mL size, or a combination of the two sizes.
Sensitivity, resolution, reproducibility and accuracy are all dependent
upon the method in use but typical detection limits are in the unit ppb
range.
Sample condition at time of analysis is dictated by the particular
method being used. Varying levels of sample preparation will be necessary.
Users must provide their own autosampler vials.
