Keys can be signed out from Michelle in the English Department main office.
To start:

  1. Plug in the power surge cord from the cart into a grounded (3-prong) electrical outlet.
(If you plan on showing on-line materials you will also need to plug in the Ethernet connection)

  2. Turn on hard drive. (bottom of cart. It may boot up automatically)

  3. Turn on monitor. If the combo is without monitor, the screen will project on the wall or white screen you are using.

  4. Turn on Proxima (button on left side). On top press 'on-button' and 'lamp button' which should light up (green). Press "computer" button (if you plan on showing a video, press the "video" button instead).
The Proxima may take a few minutes to warm up and start projecting.

  5. If prompted, log in (on-screen). Password: 'password.'
Please note that all three appliances (computer, monitor, and proxima) must be plugged in and turned on in order for the combo to function.

On the computer monitor/projected screen you should see the desktop with application icons. The Proxima should be projecting the same image on the white screen (or wall) at which you have aimed it. Operate the PC as you would any desktop computer. Whatever application you open up or run will be showed on the screen for the class to see.
To turn off:

  1. Click on the Start menu and chose "Shut down." Wait until the computer powers down.

  2. Turn off monitor (if any).

  3. Turn off Proxima (button on left side).

  4. Return the Proxima/PC combo to LL316 and lock it up in the cabinet. Please return keys to Michelle asap, OR, if you are using the Main office Proxima, take it back to Michelle.
