File Names: (You should follow these rules when naming & saving your web files)

  • All lowercase letters

  • No spaces between words

  • Do not use any symbols except the underscore _ symbol

  • Your home page should be named "index.html"

  • Web page files should be .html

  • Image files should be .jpg (photos) or .gif (clip art)

  • Make sure all links use the correct file name

FTP / Dreamweaver:

  • Check that the version you are working on is current

  • Be sure to upload your modified/new files to the proper folder

  • Upload all modified/new dependent files (like images) to their proper folders

All Web Pages: (You should consider the following for all your web pages)

  • E-mail contact/link on every page

  • "Back" link to the previous page

  • Link to "Home" page

  • Last revised date

  • Is the text visible on the background color or image?

  • Is the text too large or too small?

  • Is the background image too busy and/or distracting?

  • Do all your links work? Preview in browser and double-check after uploading

  • Spell check
