Carol Vernallis's first book is entitled Experiencing Music Video: Aesthetics and Cultural Context (Columbia). Her second book, The Art and Industry of Music Video (Duke, forthcoming), contains interviews with music video directors and others in the industry, as well as an account of the making and distribution of music videos. Her work appears in Screen, American Music, Journal of the Society for American Music, Popular Music, and The Journal of Popular Music Studies, and has been anthologized in Medium Cool: Music Videos from Soundies to Cell Phones (Duke) and Critical Essays in Popular Musicology (Ashgate).Her videos have been screened nationally and internationally.
