Dr. Lightfoot is a Professor of English and Women's Studies, primarily teaching 20th century British and American Literature. Her A.B. is from Brown University; her M.A. and Ph.D are from Northwestern University. She has special interest in the Brontes and Virginia Woolf. She has dramatized Chaucer's Troilus and Criseyde, Edgeworth's Belinda, Woolf's The Waves, and Glimpses of the Brontes: A Biography on Stage, as well as published articles on T.S. Eliot, Yeats, Doris Lessing, Alice Walker, Maxine Hong Kingston, Edgeworth, prosody, Margaret Drabble, Branwell Bronte, Mary Taylor, and Barbara Pym.
