Dr. Paul Cook specializes in 20th-century American literature, especially novel and shorter prose fiction. He teaches English and American literature survey courses as well as courses in the novel, the short story, and critical theory.

He is a much acclaimed author of five novels, including Fortress on the Sun (1997), The Engines of Dawn (1999), and most recently the mainstream novel Thinking of You (2000). Dr. Cook's most recent work in academic course development includes fusing science fiction writing and the on-line learning learning medium into a fully enabled on-line course on science fiction.
