Web Design Survey

We are conducting research on the ASU English web site to get feedback on the redesign of the main entrance pages. As part of that process we are gathering input from different campus groups. We invite anyone affiliated with the campus (faculty, staff, students, prospective students, alumni, visitors, etc.) to fill out the questionnaire below.

Please be as specific and descriptive as possible. At the end of the survey is a general comments box if you have a suggestion not covered by these questions. Thank you for your time and input.

HINT: You may want to open the English web site in a second browser window so you can refer to it. To do this, go to File, New, Window and enter the URL or click here.

  1. Are the top navigation tabs (i.e. “Prospective Students”, “Undergrad Students”, etc.) meaningful to you? In other words, do they give you a good idea of what information you’ll get when you click on them? Please be specific.

  1. Is there something that you think should be a top-level link (in that top bar) that isn’t?

  1. Do you have trouble finding anything on the English site? If so, what?

  1. What pages/sections do you visit most often?

  1. What feedback have you heard from others about the site? Was the feedback from a student, staff, prospective student, visitor or other?

  1. What is your screen resolution?
    (On a PC, go to your desktop, right click the mouse and choose “Properties”. Click the “Settings” tab. On the right toward the bottom is an area that says “Screen Area”. Underneath the slider is a number such as 640 x 480, 800 x 600, etc. That is your resolution. On a MAC go to the Apple Menu on the top left of your screen, select Control Panels, Monitors & Sound. On the right it will say resolution and will have your current setting highlighted.)

  1. What browser do you use?

(Open your browser. Under “Help”, click on “About Internet Explorer” or “About Netscape”. A box will pop open and tell you what version you are running.)
