Applying For Graduate Student Travel Grants Graduate students may apply for travel grants from the Graduate College with matching funds from the English Department for the purpose of presenting papers at scholarly conferences. Travel Grants reimburse graduate stduents the cost of airfare (maximum $350) to support participation in professional conferences. The Department of English will provide matching funds for lodging and registration fees. Step One: Get an Application for Graduate College Travel Grant and a Travel Authorization form. Be sure to state how ASU will beneit from your participation. Click on the link at the top of the page that says "for paper travel form click here." Step Two: Submit proof of acceptance to the conference to your chair as soon as you receive it. Fill out Application for Graduate College Travel Grant and secure your committee chair's signature. Step Three: Bring Travel Grant Application and Travel Authorization form to the Graduate Program Coordinator(LL 543B) for signature. Things to Remember: After your trip, take your receipts and ticket stubs to Faye Verska for confirmation. Awards must be expended before the end of the fiscal year - June 30. Only one award, per person, per year. Only expenses pertaining to airfare (Graduate College) and hotel and/or registration fees (English Department) will be reimbursed. The applicant must make a presentation at a conference, participate in a panel, or be part of a creative project. Do not make copies of the Travel Authorization Form. Each form has a number. There should be a separate form for each traveler. Application Deadlines for 2007/2008 October 23, 2007: for travel November 16, 2007 through February 15, 2008 January 22, 2008: for travel February 16 through May 15, 2008 April 8, 2008: for travel May 16 through August 31, 2008 July 22, 2008: for travel September 1 through November 15, 2008
