The Fletcher Lecture 2005-2006 will be held: March 28, 2006 at the University Club (UCLUB), ASU, 7:00 p.m.

The 2005-2006 Ian Fletcher Memorial Lecture features Jerome McGann, the John Stewart Bryan University Professor of English at the University of Virginia. Specializing in nineteenth- and twentieth-century literature and the history and theory of texts, McGann is Founder and Co-Director of NINES (Networked Infrastructure for Nineteenth-Century Electronic Scholarship), “a project to found a publishing environment for aggregated, peer-reviewed online scholarship centered in nineteenth-century studies, British and American.”  Dr. McGann has published extensively both in print and online in his field.  His latest books are The Scholar's Art: Literary Studies in a Managed World (University of Chicago Press 2006); Algernon Charles Swinburne: Major Poems and Selected Prose (Yale University Press 2004), and Byron and Romanticism (Cambridge University Press 2003).

The lecture is free of charge and open to the public. Refreshments will follow.
