Marooned - Art. Fiction. Poetry
About
The new Marooned magazine is supported by the Department of English through its internal Internship Program. The magazine staff is composed of undergraduates who plan the magazine content, solicit submissions and advertising, and arrange for printing and distribution.

The all-student staff earns 3 upper-division elective credits while learning first-hand the ins and outs of publishing a print magazine with supplemental web-based content. New staff for the magazine can enter the internship program at the beginning of each semester by applying through the Department of English Internship Progam.

Be part of a talented pool of students. We are continually interested in hearing from talented writers, editors, artists, graphic designers, production and advertising specialists. As a Marooned intern, learn how to:

  • plan content
  • schedule production
  • arrange for copyrights
  • edit technical and creative writing by students
  • work with artists
  • coordinate printing and distribution
  • solicit advertising and community support
  • and much more

To apply for a Marooned Internship, please contact the Marooned Faculty Advisor, Bob Haynes or the Department of English Internship Coordinator, Ruby Macksoud. Internships are semester-long activities and involve a regularly scheduled class period. Marooned interns should plan on working an average of 10-12 hours each week on activities related to the journal.

Internship Applications are now being accepted for Spring 2009. Download the Application form.
