Korean Literature

The School of International Letters and Cultures at Arizona State University seeks to appoint a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Korean literature, beginning in August 2009. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Korean literature or related discipline by August 15, 2009 and must have native or near-native proficiency in both Korean and English. Preferred qualifications include: transdisciplinary research experience; college-level teaching experience; and interest in participating in the further development of the ASU Korean Studies Program. The successful candidate will teach two courses per semester, primarily undergraduate courses in Korean literature and culture, with occasional opportunities to teach graduate courses.

Application deadline: October 31, 2008; if not filled, applications will be evaluated weekly thereafter until the search is closed.

Application package must include a letter of interest detailing qualifications, research and teaching experience; C.V.; a journal article-length writing sample; a list of courses the applicant would be prepared to teach; and three letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation should be sent separately by the referees.
