AZLA is the Arizona affiliate of ACTFL (the American Council of Teachers of Foreign Languages) and SWCOLT (the Southwest Conference on Language Teaching).

Dr. Glisan's articles have appeared in the most prestigious national and international journals, and her textbook, Teacher's Handbook: Contextualized Language Instruction , now in its third edition, is used in methods courses in virtually all undergraduate foreign language programs in the United States .
Dr. Glisan is a key player in the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language's "New Visions" program to create a national agenda for foreign language education. She also serves on national panels that design on-line teaching methods, new assessment tools, and NCATE-approved standards for teacher education programs in the foreign languages.

Seating is limited, includes lunch.

If you, the teacher, are overworked and the students are underworked at the end of class, it's time to make a change.

GETTING THERE: (Nearest crossroads: N. Stapley Road and E. University)

Take the 202 East, get off at the Gilbert Rd. exit, turn right (south) to McKellips Rd., turn right (west) on McKellips, go one mile to Stapley Road, turn left (south) on Stapley and go 2 miles. The Mesa Public Schools Curriculum Services Center will be on the east side. If you reach University, you have gone too far.

OR

Take US60 East to the Stapley exit, turn left at Stapley (north) and go 2.5 miles (past Southern, Broadway, Main, University) past University and the MPS Curriculum Services Center will be on the east side of Stapley.

Exit I-17 (Black Canyon Freeway) at DUNLAP, proceed WEST about 4.5 miles. (Dunlap becomes Olive upon entering Glendale). Go past 59th Avenue, and enter GCC SOUTH PARKING LOT by turning RIGHT at light at 61st AVE.
