Hemisphere The Science is Fun Program

Science is Fun brings the excitement of scientific discovery and invention to local K-12 classrooms via fast-paced, interactive science demonstrations designed by scientists in interdisciplinary multi-investigator research laboratories at ASU. Each year, as many as 30 undergraduate and graduate interns from across the University engage over 12,000 students and 450 teachers at 60 schools. The Science is Fun Interns typically represent widely diverse demographics, and because most Interns are young adults, they are often accepted as older peers and role models by the younger students they engage.  Interns spark curiosity, promote critical thinking, informal learning and science literacy, and encourage young students to pursue higher education and careers in science, engineering and science education.
