Home > Undergraduate > Barrett Honors StudentsBarrett Honors StudentsThe Hugh Downs School of Human Communication welcomes its Barrett honors students. As an honors student you will have the opportunity to work closely with some of the nation’s top scholars in the study of Interpersonal, Organizational, and Intercultural Communication as well as in Rhetoric and Performance Studies. The knowledge and skills you develop as a Barrett Honors student in the Communication majors can provide professional as well as personal benefits, whether you pursue graduate study or career development after college graduation. Each honors student selects a program of study that mixes core requirements and electives. While we do not have a specific set of courses required for honors students, you may take footnote 18 contracts within any upper division course taught by a regular faculty person, and there are occasionally special sections of our courses reserved exclusively for Communication honors students, such as Com 312 (“Conflict and Negotiation”) offered Fall 2007.
