Theater In My Basement Local theater collective that I housed at Modified Arts. The work is usually non-conventional, political, and challenging to the audience. A great group that is always putting up new and developing work Stray Cat Theatre Local theater company started by ASU theater alumni. The work has consistently received strong critical support. Local Theatre - Traditional Venue ASU Gammage Auditorium On campus, the Grady Gammage Auditorium has a full season of productions, usually touring companies of Broadway shows. Actor’s Theater of Phoenix – Herberger Theater Arizona Theater Company Regional professional theater company. Emphasis on larger productions, classical works, and mainstream audiences. Alternative Performance Spaces (ideas to see new work or get your work out there!) Modified Arts on Roosevelt Art gallery and performance space. Home of Theater in my Basement, as well as the Teatro Caliente Festival each fall. The Icehouse Literally an old ice house, this historic building downtown is known for hosting performance work, as well as larger social events.
The Paper Heart on Grand Avenue Art venue catering to visual, music, dance, theatre, spoken word/poetry, performance art, video/film and comedy.
Alwun House Gallery & Gardens 1204 E. Roosevelt Street (602) 253-7887 1912 historic bungalow houses gallery, lush gardens, pond & patios. Home of the annual sextasy ball. There are many alternative spaces in both the Roosevelt and Grand neighborhoods that are performance friendly.
