Dr. Kelly McDonald made many media appearances due to his work creating forensic events tied to the Presidential debates that took place in Tempe.

Dr. Dan Brower won the "Master Teacher for 2005" award from the Communication and Instruction Interest Group of the Western States Communication Association.

Dr. Cheree Carlson has been selected to serve as the next editor of the Western Journal of Communication. Her term will begin after that of Dr. Dan Canary, who just also happens to be faculty at the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication.
