Larry Dumka, Ph.D. primary research interests are in examining influences on parenting behavior in low-income ethnically diverse families, developing culturally equivalent measures to assess dimensions of parent functioning, and designing culturally responsive family strengthening interventions that enhance parenting efficacy and adolescents’ adjustment. Our team recently completed a pilot test of a new preventive intervention called BRIDGES for families with adolescents making the transition to middle school.
