The Center for Asian Research is pleased to announce the upcoming
public lecture by Dr. Peter Perdue, 2008
Robert C. Staley Distinguished Visiting Professor in East Asian
Studies, to be held on Thursday, February
21, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lattie Coor Hall 120. 
*The 2008 visit by Dr. Peter Perdue, Robert C. Staley
Distinguished Visiting Professor in East Asian Studies is made
possible by the generosity of Robert C. Staley. Mr. Staley is
a friend of the ASU Center for Asian Research, a member of the
ASU College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean's Advancement Council,
and an alumnus of the Asian Studies Program at Monmouth College.
Staley has been involved in business in China and other regions
of Asia throughout his career.
Each year the Center for Asian Research appoints an invited
scholar to be the Robert C. Staley Visiting Professor in East
