Assistant Professor
The Asian Pacific American Studies Program (APAS) at Arizona State University Tempe Campus invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Asian Pacific American Studies. APAS is an interdisciplinary program that is socially embedded in the southwestern United States and local API communities.

APAS is seeking a social science (including history) scholar whose research and scholarly interests stress an interdisciplinary and analytically comparative approach to Asian American and/or Pacific Islander communities. We are particularly interested in candidates whose active research agenda addresses API interethnic relations with other ethnic minority communities, or whose research compares API and other ethnic minority communities in the fields of racial formations, health, and/or migration. Candidates must demonstrate the potential for excellence in research, teaching, and service.

The successful candidate must possess:

A PhD in History, Anthropology, Sociology or another social science, and/or API/Ethnic Studies with a social science or history emphasis by time of appointment, undergraduate teaching experience, and a demonstrated research agenda relating to Asian American and/or Pacific Islanders in comparison with/or interethnic relations with other ethnic minority communities.

Desired qualifications include :
Demonstrated experience teaching APAS undergraduate courses; demonstrated interdisciplinary research; evidence of publication activity; demonstrated potential to secure individual or collaborative funding.
