Director’s Invitation
We are on the move at ASU! Our offices have moved from Cowden Hall to the first floor of Wilson Hall in the center of campus. Our new name, African and African American Studies (AAAS) represents an expansion of our intellectual vision as does our new curriculum centered on a global African Diaspora that examines the history, literature, politics, health and culture of African descended peoples. We have assembled a dynamic faculty trained in an array of disciplines who also engage in interdisciplinary research and teaching. We invite you to join us as we continue the critical endeavors of our ancestors and elders to intellectually and spiritually visualize and create societies that truly respect, appreciate and foster diversity.
